Frequently asked questions

A: The face cradle can improve client comfort during prone treatments, which can last 30–60 minutes in a typical massage session. A poorly designed face cradle causes forehead pressure, restricted breathing, and post-treatment facial marks. Alevo's face cradles are cushioned with the same Dunlop foam system used in the table sections and adjust for angle and height to suit different head and neck positions.

A: The Elite 635 weighs 12.4kg, making it the lightest table in the Alevo range. It folds into a compact profile for transport and includes a transit bag. For comparison, the Elite ABR with its adjustable backrest weighs 16.5kg, and the Centurion Traveller massage chair weighs just 7.6kg for seated massage work.

A: Alevo offers table packages that bundle essential accessories such as face cradles, arm rests, and transit bags with portable and electric table models. These starter packages reduce the cost of purchasing items individually when setting up a new practice. Check the current Alevo website for specific package pricing, as configurations and inclusions are updated periodically to reflect available stock.

A: Alevo uses PVC-coated fabrics that are designed with a protective layer to enhance the durability of the fabric's surface. The way you use and maintain the upholstery directly impacts its longevity. To ensure your table upholstery lasts as long as possible, we highly recommend following the cleaning instructions in the product manual. In general, using pH-neutral cleaning products immediately after each patient is advisable, along with towel covers to protect the surface during treatments. Please avoid using any alcohol-based cleaners or disinfectants.

A PVC-coated fabric is made soft and flexible by adding plasticisers. However, when body and treatment oils come into contact with PVC fabric, these plasticisers can dry out, causing the fabric surface to harden. The areas of the table that are most exposed to body and treatment oils, such as the face hole and the chest region, are particularly susceptible to wear and accelerated hardening. Over time, the hardened fabric may blister and split. Additionally, exposure to alcohol-based cleaners or disinfectants can lead to premature drying of the material. It’s important to note that the hardening of the PVC surface is not a manufacturing defect.

Beware of "Natural Cleaners", such as those containing citric or essential oils, can be quite harsh and are often formulated for cleaning hard surfaces. Even a single use can permanently damage the protective coating on upholstery fabrics.

A: A lightweight portable table is essential for mobile work, with the Elite 635 at 12.4kg being the lightest in the Alevo range. For therapists who need a backrest section, the Elite ABR at 16.5kg adds adjustable positioning. Both fold flat with carrying handles, and the Centurion Traveller massage chair at 7.6kg is another option for seated massage at events and corporate bookings.
