The Ultimate Beauty Bed for your Day Spa or Beauty Clinic -Athlegen Pro-lift Venus

The Athlegen Venus chair solves common stability and comfort issues with proven engineering and premium materials.

Many beauty chairs on the market fall short when it comes to meeting the rigorous demands of bustling massage clinics and day spas. A poorly designed or constructed chair can lead to frustrating instability, distracting noise, and a diminished lifespan—factors that can significantly detract from the overall experience for both therapists and clients. Conventional massage tables often lack the essential adjustments required for effective beauty treatments, leaving much to be desired in comfort and functionality.

Fixing these common (but frustrating) problems was the driving force behind the development of the Athlegen Venus chair. The Venus chair is a remarkable innovation that serves as both a beauty chair and a massage table. Boasting a proven pivot-lifting and support mechanism, this chair has been a trusted choice in beauty and spa clinics worldwide for over 30 years, ensuring reliability and exceptional performance.

At Athlegen, we place immense value on creating a seamless experience for therapists while prioritising the utmost comfort for clients. As Australia’s largest manufacturer of treatment tables, we take great pride in meeting rigorous international quality standards, providing leading spas with our exceptional products designed to elevate every treatment experience.

ATHLEGEN COMPETING PRODUCTS
Lifting mechanism Superior pivot lift mechanism
Each of the eight central lift pivots is constructed with stepped nylon bushings, along with steel insert bushings and bushing housings. This design offers a durable and silent lift mechanism that has been successfully used for over 15 years and on more than 20,000 treatment tables.

The self-lubricating nylon bushings ensure smooth and quiet operation, requiring minimal maintenance.

Scissors lift mechanism
The construction of “ironing board technology” is quite basic, making it inexpensive to manufacture and high maintenance. As the table lifts, bushes slide along the rails, and this sliding action can lead to noise problems that are challenging to eliminate or repair. To minimise noise, the rails need to be lubricated frequently.

At Athlegen, we currently do not offer scissor lift tables, as we believe that this particular design does not meet our standards for commercial quality.

Frame work The table chassis, or frame, is fully fabricated in Australia using certified structural grade steel. Robotic welding processes ensure high structural integrity and consistent quality in the final product.

The extensive use of high-grade stainless steel encompasses components such as the main pivot shafts, pivot pins, and section control arms, all of which are precision-machined.

All adjustable sections are designed to withstand the rigorous demands of a busy practice, ensuring reliability and ease of use.

Every component is engineered to perform well in a heavy-duty commercial environment. The adjustable-length footrest features robust 19mm diameter stainless steel slider shafts, providing both longevity and rigidity.

Many of our competitors use cheaper sheet metal that is stamped for the structural part of the frame. Or make the table using imported steel sections.
Powder coating After the fabricated sections pass quality control checks, the steel surface undergoes a series of pre-treatment processes. Finally, an electrostatic coating is applied and baked in an oven for a hard, durable finish. The powder coating finish of metal components made in China may not always meet the high-quality, stringent Australian standards.
Height Motor German-made, high-powered 10,000N motors. Very fast, smooth, silent, and super-responsive height adjustment. Low-powered 6000N motors lead to slow height adjustments. Therapists often find it frustrating to wait for the table to reach the correct working height.
Backrest Motorised
Motorised adjustable backrest with fast and responsive height adjustment. This feature ensures optimal patient comfort during treatment, allowing patients to relax completely while facilitating a smooth, controlled, and effortless experience for both the patient and practitioner.
Manual Adjustable Backrest
Many tables do not come with motorised backrests, allowing manufacturers to offer a more affordable product, but this results in significantly less functionality.

With a manually adjustable backrest, the therapist must support the patient’s weight while adjusting the backrest, which raises occupational health and safety concerns. Alternatively, the patient may need to sit up and avoid applying any weight on the backrest section, disrupting the flow of treatment.

Tilt seat The motorised tilt seat automatically adjusts as the backrest is raised, ensuring optimal patient comfort throughout the treatment. This feature enables patients to remain perfectly relaxed, making the entire process smooth, controlled, and effortless for both the patient and the practitioner. No Tilt Seat
If the table does not have a tilt seat function, patient comfort during treatments is significantly compromised.
Footswitch A premium German-engineered low-profile footswitch crafted from high-quality stainless steel. With an impressively sleek design, this footswitch stands at just 20mm in height, providing exceptional comfort and ease of use during extended sessions. Its unique pneumatic control mechanism eliminates the need for electrical wires, significantly enhancing user safety and allowing for seamless operation in various environments. This footswitch not only combines durability with functionality but also ensures peace of mind with every use. Chunky footswitches that are awkward to use as they require greater extension of the ankle or require the therapist to lift their entire foot to reach the plate to activate the table adjustment.
Castors Australian-made lockable castors with a 75mm heavy-duty powder-coated chassis. The wheels, made from rubber rather than plastic, are equipped with steel bearings. This design allows for 360-degree manoeuvrability, making it easy to clean the room. Smaller, cheap casters made in China.

Some tables have no castors at all, making it very difficult to move the table, especially when the room needs to be cleaned. (OHS issue)

Fabric High-quality, commercial-grade vinyl made in Taiwan to Australian standards. The protective coated finish provides a soft, comfortable feel and is durable with oil-resistant properties.
Foam Each model is crafted with premium Australian Dunlop Foam, renowned for its durability and comfort. The upholstery features high-density foam along the edges, meticulously designed with a specially firm structure to ensure that the cushioned top maintains its shape over time. This design not only enhances comfort but also provides superior edge support that outlasts standard upholstery options. For an unparalleled patient experience, consider our Dunlop Enduro or Luxura foam options, which elevate comfort to new heights. Foam on imported products is not of the same quality as Australian-made cushioning made to Australian standards.
Australian Made Manufactured in Ballarat, Victoria, Australia, by an award-winning manufacturer (established in 1987). T.G.A. listed and the official treatment table supplier for the Australian Olympic Teams in Atlanta, Sydney, and Beijing.
Warranty Industry-leading warranty: 3 years for the motor and 15 years for the frame. Extended warranty options are available. Some warranties only include parts and labour for the first year.
